Procurement guide
Large Diameter Valve RFQ Checklist
For a large diameter valve inquiry, combine the process requirement with exact interface, actuation, installation, transport and document information before comparing models.
Direct answer
What should the buyer send first?
For a large diameter valve inquiry, combine the process requirement with exact interface, actuation, installation, transport and document information before comparing models.
Standards and certificate availability are confirmed separately for the quoted product and project scope.
Do not stop at nominal size and pressure
Provide DN or NPS, pressure designation, governing standard, body style, end connection, flange drilling, face-to-face requirement and adjoining pipe information. Include the buyer's general arrangement or valve schedule when available.
Large nominal size does not establish a standard configuration. Exact dimensions, materials, operation and project requirements remain tied to the offered model.
- Flange outside diameter, drilling and facing requirement
- Face-to-face or end-to-end dimension requirement
- Available installation envelope and access
- Pipeline orientation and support information supplied by the project
Treat the actuator and valve as an assembly
State manual, gearbox, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic operation. For powered actuation, provide power supply, control signal, duty, environmental conditions, preferred fail position when applicable, local-control requirement and actuator-interface standard.
Torque, travel time, gearbox ratio, actuator sizing and mounting details must be confirmed for the exact valve and operating conditions; they should not be copied from another size or model.
| Assembly input | Buyer information | Quotation confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Valve | Type, size, pressure, materials and connection | Exact offered model and dimensions |
| Actuation | Power, controls, environment and operation | Sizing, mounting and accessories |
| Installation | Space, orientation and adjoining piping | Drawing alignment and exceptions |
| Logistics | Destination and handling constraints | Packing dimensions and shipment scope |
Include logistics and inspection requirements early
Share the delivery destination, port, site access and buyer-specified packing, lifting, preservation or marking requirements. If transport dimensions or split shipment constraints matter, include them before the quotation is finalized.
List required drawings, inspection stages, material records, pressure test records, actuator documents, certificates and third-party witness requirements separately. Their availability and scope are confirmed against the quoted assembly.
RFQ Checklist
- Valve type, DN or NPS and complete pressure designation
- Body style, flange drilling, facing and face-to-face requirement
- Body, trim, seat, shaft and coating requirements
- Medium, temperature, pressure differential and operating duty
- Operation, power, control, environment and fail-position requirements
- Installation envelope, orientation and buyer drawings
- Quantity, destination, packing, inspection and document requirements
Unknown fields can be marked for confirmation. Do not replace a missing project requirement with an assumption.
Buyer Questions
Are DN and pressure designation enough for a large valve quotation?
No. Connection, dimensions, materials, operation, service conditions, installation, logistics and document requirements must also be confirmed.
Can actuator sizing be copied from another valve of the same nominal size?
No. Actuator sizing and mounting must be confirmed for the exact valve construction, pressure conditions, service and operating requirements.
When should transport and lifting requirements be provided?
Provide them with the RFQ when they affect packing, site access, shipment scope or project review.
Reference Basis
Use the project-specified standard and edition. The links below identify official standards organizations; they do not prove that a listed BAODUN product has a certificate or approval.
Send the Requirement for Review
Share the known specification, quantity, destination, and document list so the product scope can be confirmed before quotation.
